{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} At the End of May

blog homeschool graduate

This is my Brenna. We enjoyed a nice, long three day weekend with her, and I think she is so lovely. Except that when she’s not working, she always wears this same tee and these baggy jeans. I’m thinking I might have to be a little less efficient with the laundry so she’ll wear something else.

blog evie happy

This is my Evie, and I have to say that I absolutely love having her in my life at this “advanced maternal age”. Motherhood at forty-something is so much more relaxed. I can see the end now, and I don’t hurry things or worry things as much as I did in my less experienced days. It’s so very good, even at three o’clock in the morning. 🙂

blog penny funny

This is my Penelope, who received this tiara as a birthday gift on March 10. She has worn it every day since, except for that one day I took it away due to a habit of some very unprincess-like snorting. She only takes it off to wear her bike helmet, and to bathe and sleep. Otherwise, she’s sporting her sparkles.

blog bracelet real

{deep breath} I’m opening an Etsy store. Affiliate links make me feel dirty and spammy and less than, but I do like to make things, so I’m going that more wholesome route. There’s only one thing in my store right now, but I have three more bracelets in different styles to list this afternoon, and other ideas in the works.  I hope it does well!  It’s always kind of scary to put yourself out there, isn’t it?

Well, visit Like Mother, Like Daughter for more {P, H, F, R}!

Really cute bracelet! And I thought you said you’re not “crafty mom”. Crafty mom doesn’t have to do glitter and pom-poms, you know; she just has to give her kids the appreciation of making things with whatever they like 🙂
The girls are all so beautiful and big! Brenna looks so pretty in that color and so relaxed, too. I wish we had chances to see each other in person.

    1. Well, by Crafty Mom, I meant that I don’t like doing pointless crafty projects with the kids, not that I don’t like making things! All the children know how to do a variety of things, like knitting, crocheting, sewing, drawing, embroidering, quilling… I have varied interests and I share with them, but I don’t do construction paper.

I wish we could see each other more often, too. I miss you guys so much! If only NJ was closer to Louisville.

  2. It took me forever to get up the nerve to open an Etsy shop. I’m glad I did, but I have had a few episodes that made me want to close it up. But that’s the way life is isn’t it? It can’t always be sunny and 70 degrees! We have to take a little bad along with the good. I’ll check out your shop. I opened another one recently but haven’t announced the opening yet — after the wedding when I can stock it well.

    1. Check it out over the weekend, after I’ve added a few more things. 🙂

Gosh, a wedding. It seems so unbelievable, and he isn’t even my kid! Exciting times. 🙂

  3. My goodness, Brenna is beautiful. Aunt Beckie had this bright yellow sleeveless top for summer with a horrible design on it and she wore it all the time – ugh!

Good luck with the Etsy Shop my first born and yes putting yourself out there is scary and exciting.

Please hug and kiss everyone for me – it is my fondest wish to see you all this summer and with any luck
Daddy will able to do it this year. I miss you so much and love hearing your voice.
    Love always,

  4. We’re looking at getting my daughter a tiara as part of her birthday gift. How did this one hold up? Would you buy that same one again, and if so which is it?

    1. We regularly glue them back together and they came from Claire’s. Totally worth it. 🙂
